Suckler Cow and Calf Nuggets are a quality 6mm nut ideal for feeding to suckler cows prior to calving or post calving to stimulate milk production. The high digestible fibre content complements forage and allows the ration to be safely fed at high levels where either forage quantity or quality is limiting. If suckler cows are in a body condition score of 2 or less then Suckler Cow and Calf Nuggets should be fed six weeks prior to calving. This enables body reserves to be replenished and helps mammary tissue development. If cows are in a fit condition but in a low milk production potential, then feeding two weeks prior to calving will improve colostrums quality and stimulate milk production.

When fed post calving there is a two fold benefit. Firstly, an increase in the quantity of milk produced gives the calf an ideal start. Secondly it allows the cow to maintain body condition thus encouraging the cow to come into season - improving subsequent conception rates.

The ration is highly palatable and young calves will feed on it, thus easing the transition on to creep feeding. The mineral and vitamin specification allows for good, all round animal health.
