Principle duties & responsibilities to include;
• All Health & safety policy & procedures are adhered to, by self and the team• Lead and drive a health & safety culture in the production team
• The mill is manned and supervised at the required levels at all times to meet safely & quality standards and to meet production targets (specifically, blending, pressing, blends plant, flaking plant & auto-packing)
• Development and agreement of KPI’s with the Operations Director and subsequent delivery thereof.
• Production planning is optimised for dispatch performance and mill efficiency.
• Close co-ordination with Logistics, Nutrition and Customer Service function regarding scheduling & meeting customer needs. Dealing directly with hauliers as required.
• Effective communication with employees, clients, hauliers and customers and at shift changeover
• Effective and efficient co-ordination with engineering team re prioritisation of maintenance, plant downtime & PM
• Effective and efficient co-ordination with process engineering RE process performance optimisation
• Key customers, hauliers and merchants are met with as required
• Take a lead role with respect to site visits and audits, ensuring the mill is at the required standard for such visits.
• Take a lead role with respect to trials and improvement projects and ensure employees are released to participate in lean and continuous improvement activities
• Quality standards and quality tests are managed as required
• Ensure all hygiene policy & procedures are adhered to
• Ensure all contamination policy & procedures are adhered to
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of company documentation
• Ensure all company policy is complied with and supported
• Responsibility for staff development including assessing training needs and development opportunities for staff
• Guarantee all employees are trained on, validated and comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Participation in SOP development and review
• Any other duties are carried out as appropriate
